Halloween String Pumpkin Craft Tutorial

Here is an easy way to bring a little Fall color into your decor. You can hang the string pumpkin around the house! You can make a bunch turn them into a garland, or get some twigs or branches out of the yard and put them in a vase and adorn them with these adorable pumpkins!

Supplies You Will Need to Make the String Pumpkin

• Orange embroidery floss
• Brown embroidery floss
• Green ribbon
• Liquid starch
• Small balloon
• Glue

String Pumpkin Directions

Step 1

Blow up and tie the balloon.

Step 2

Put starch into a bowl. Carefully unwind the entire piece of embroidery floss into the bowl. If you don’t unwind it, while you are putting it in the starch, it will get tangled.

Step 3

Start winding the embroidery floss around the balloon, being careful to leave the tied end of the balloon out.

Step 4

When you have finished with the orange floss, take a piece of brown floss and wind it around the tied piece of the balloon. It will make the stem.

Step 5

Put the string pumpkin on a cup or something to dry overnight. I cut water bottles and put string pumpkins on there.

Step 6

When dry, take a toothpick and pop the balloon. Carefully remove the balloon. The brown stem will likely come off the orange. Don’t be alarmed!

Step 7

Take a piece of green ribbon and tie a knot. Feed it through the brown stem piece and add a dab of glue to secure it. Allow the glue to dry.
