Raised Spider Coaster DIY ~ Another Coaster Friday ~ Craft Klatch

I thought I’d try to go a little 3-D on this coaster and make a raised spider coaster for Halloween!  It is fully functional, but might be easier to knock down, so this is for fun, user beware!

Here is the quick video tutorial, so you can see exactly how I made it!

The links below help support this channel,  as I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.

You will need:

Coaster mold:  http://amzn.to/2iW1vC7

Chunky black glitter:  http://amzn.to/2x5AHWq

Fine silver glitter:  http://amzn.to/2wC7mzI

Wire – I used a wire hanger
Google eyes:  http://amzn.to/2iX1wWl
Black spray paint:  http://amzn.to/2wyYFYE
Dremel (optional, but handy!):  http://amzn.to/2vFVnnC
Directions:
1.  Mix two ounces of resin, according to the package directions.

2.  Mix in some chunky black glitter.

3.  Pour it into the coaster mold.

4.  Pop the bubbles with a lighter and let it cure a minimum of 12 hours.

5.  Once cured, remove it from the mold.

6.  Take a wire coat hanger and cut short pieces – the length depends on how tall you would like your spider to be.

 7.  Then bend each end in the opposite direction.

8.  Using a drill, or Dremel tool, drill holes in the side of the cured coaster – remember spiders have eight legs!  That’s a lot of legs!

9.  Insert the legs.

10.  Stand the spider up and try it out with a cup or mug, to make sure you have it balanced.  Then you can add glue.

11.  Glue on google eyes.

He’s looking pretty cute!

Now you have a cute mug and decoration for Halloween!

That’s it!  I hope you like it!  Thank you for stopping by and remember:  Life’s too short not to shimmer, so grab your glue gun and your glitter!™  Stay safe!
