Metallic Foil Coaster – Another Coaster Friday!

It’s Friday!  I was inspired by some keychains that Kathryn shared on my Facebook page a while back.  She used fusible film.  I have not found fusible film, but I found metallic foil.  I thought I would give that a try instead!

This is what happened:

You will need:
–  Coaster mold
–  Resin – I used Easy Cast, but you could use Envirotex Lite (www.eti-usa.com)
–  Metallic foil
–  Adhesive for foil or for gold leaf

Here are some of the items, available through Amazon, incase you want to give it a try:

Here is the video tutorial:

Directions:
1.  Prepare your resin, according to the package directions.  You want enough to cover the bottom of the mold.
2.  Allow to cure – 12 hours would be good.
3.  Paint on your adhesive and allow it to dry to a sticky state.
4.  Apply your foil to the coaster and rub with a craft stick.  The adhesive will pull off the foil.
5.  Pull up sheet.
6.  Repeat in different areas, until you have it covered the way you want.
7.  Prepare more resin and pour over coaster.
8.  Allow to cure a minimum of 12 hours.

That’s it!  Thanks Kathryn for the inspiration!  It did not turn out anything like Kathryn’s – I guess that means I will have to keep trying!

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Crafting!
