I do a fair amount of spray painting and it can be pretty messy.  I have accidentally spray painted stairs, decks and concrete with my overspray, so I needed a cheap and easy solution!

I saw some foam board and Dollar Tree and thought I’d give it a try.  I sprayed some paint on it to make sure it didn’t eat right through it and it didn’t.  This is not a last forever spray paint booth, so we are clear going into this.  It’s a temporary solution, but it might last a good long while.  We will have to see!  I spent $5 on foam board and had some duct tape lying around.

You will need:
–  Foam board (5 sheets)
–  Duct tape or packing tape might work even better

Here is the video tutorial:

Directions:
1.  Tape together three sheets of foam board (longways) to begin making a box.
2.  Cut shorter sides and tape in place.

It should look like a box with one missing side.

That’s it!  I could not be easier and it spares me a lot of headache and mess!  I have it sitting out in my garage and I don’t have to worry about the overspray!

Thanks for stopping by!  Happy Crafting and stay safe!!

  1. I made one similar to this using a cardboard box but it was really dark inside. I like your idea of using white board. I also put a cheap lazy susan in mine to make it easier to spray paint items! Love your blog!!
