Have you played the Angry Birds game?  Have you seen the Angry Birds movie?  Are you a fan?  If so, how about making some Angry Birds drink coasters?

You will need:
Coaster mold:  http://amzn.to/1NTnnrs
Easy Cast Resin:  http://amzn.to/27W8afH
Red pigment:  http://amzn.to/1TG64qB
Green pigment:  http://amzn.to/1OSOXzM
Black pigment:  http://amzn.to/1TG6Q70
Mod Podge:  http://amzn.to/22rJZBX
Permanent markers:  http://amzn.to/1P5VUDc
Black craft foam:  http://amzn.to/1XX9RoI
My favorite glue:  http://amzn.to/27WoY6d

Here is the video tutorial:

Directions:
1.  Mix three ounces of resin, according to the package directions and separate into three cups.
2.  Add red pigment to one cup.  And black pigment to another cup.  Add green pigment to the last cup and mix well.
3.  Pour into the cavities of the coaster mold.
4.  Pop bubbles with your lighter and let it cure for a minimum of 12 hours.
5.  Print out your images on card stock.  I used a laser printer.
6.  Cut out the facial features and anything else the sticks out – like the crown on the birds, or the ears on the pig.  See video to see how I cut them.
7.  Color the edges of all of the parts with a black permanent marker.
8.  Color the backs of the parts that will be sticking out (crowns and ears) with the same color permanent marker.  Allow to dry.
9.  Remove the coasters from the mold.
10.  You want to Mod Podge the faces onto the resin coasters. Seal the crowns and the ears with Mod Podge on both sides and on the edges.  Allow to dry.  You will want to repeat this another one or two times, until everything is well sealed.  Allow to COMPLETELY DRY.
11.  I created a hanging bar for my pieces.  See video.  I took two cups and a couple of skewer sticks to be able to hang the pieces to drip and cure.  I also took a paper clips and partially unfolded them, to be able to use them as hangers.
12.  I mixed three ounces of resin, but I think you only need two at most.  I dipped the crowns and the ears into the resin, but not all the way, just the parts that will be sticking out.  Then hang them from the skewer sticks and allow to drip.
13.  Pour resin over the coasters, to seal the facial features.  Pop bubbles with lighter and allow to cure a minimum of 12 hours.
14.  Trace the coasters onto the black craft foam.
15.  Cut out the craft foam and glue on the coasters and make sure to sandwich the ears or crown in between the coaster and the craft foam.  Allow to dry.

That’s it!  Now you have some fun coasters for movie night, or anytime!

Thanks for stopping by!
