Color Shift Paint Resin Coasters Black Background | Another Coaster Friday

If you are looking for resin craft ideas, here are easy coasters, where I experimented with color shift paint!  This time, I used a black background like you all suggested!

Color shift paint: or
Pigment powders:
Black pigment:
Resin (use whatever resin brand you like):
This is the resin I used for this project:
FX Poxy: ~ According to the manufacturer, this one is heat resistant to 500 degrees F.

Here is a quick video tutorial, so you can see exactly how I made them!

1.  I brushed pigment powder into the molds.  Since we are doing a black background, I thought it would be cool if it had a tint of color.

2.  I mixed two ounces of resin and added black pigment and mixed it really well.

3.  I poured the resin into the mold cavities. USA, LLC

4.  I used a lighter to pop the bubbles and let it cure for 12 hours.

5.  Once cured, I removed them from the mold.

Here is the back of the purple.

Here are both.

6.  I painted the color shift paint onto the coasters.

7.  I let the paint completely dry.

8.  I mixed two ounces of resin and poured it onto the coasters.

9.  I used my stir stick to make sure the resin reached the edges.

10.  I used my lighter to pop the bubbles and let them cure a minimum of 12 hours before touching them.
