  • Resin
    • When deciding on which resin to use for your coasters, you need to keep in mind whether you want it just for cold cups or for hot as well.
      • If only for cold drinks, you can be flexible and use whatever brand you like:
      • If you want it to work for both hot and cold drinks, you need to look for a heat resistant resin, like these:
        • FX Poxy ~ According to the manufacturer, this one is heat resistant to 500° F.
        • Stone Coat

Creepy Bug Coaster Directions

Step 1

Look for some fake, flat-ish, creepy bugs. You want flat bugs because they will keep the coaster from becoming too big and thick.

Trim the creepy bugs to fit into the coaster.

Mix two ounces of resin and pour them into the mold.

Step 5

Mix enough resin to cover the bugs. Depending on how thick your bugs are, it might take two or three ounces. Then, pop the bubbles with your lighter and let the resin cure.

Pour resin over the bugs

Once cured, you can pop them out of the mold! You will have the coolest, creepy bug coasters EVER! With the clear background, they look like they are crawling across your table!
