Create a fun Dracula Halloween ornament using Dollar Tree supplies! This easy DIY tutorial shows how to paint and decorate your own spooky vampire.
Turn a Simple Dollar Tree Ornament into a Spooky Dracula
If you’re looking for a quick and fun Halloween craft, this Dracula Halloween ornament is the perfect project!
Using a simple Dollar Tree ornament, you can create a spooky (and slightly silly) vampire to add to your Halloween decor. It’s budget-friendly, easy to make, and great for crafters of all ages.
This project was actually part of my first-ever YouTube livestream, and I’ll admit…I was a little nervous. But it turned out to be so much fun, and I think it went really well. There’s something exciting about crafting live and seeing how the project comes together in real time.

Directions on How to Make a Dracula Halloween Ornament
Step 1: Sketch the Design
Start by lightly sketching your Dracula right on the ornament. Give him a pointy hairline, arched eyebrows, a long nose, and of course, a fang-filled grin.

The sketch doesn’t need to be perfect…think fun and whimsical.
Step 2: Paint the Base
Paint the entire ornament purple for Dracula’s face and background.

If your ornament warps a bit as it dries, paint the backside too. It’ll flatten it right out. Add a second coat if needed for full coverage.
Step 3: Add Hair and Features
Switch to black paint for Dracula’s sharp hairline and eyebrows. Then, use a fine brush or a paint pen to paint the eyes, nose, and mouth.

Try red or white for the eyes, and finish the mouth with white fangs. You can even add a little black goatee for extra charm. The ornament is pointy at the bottom and perfect for the goatee.
Step 4: Add Glitter Details
Once the paint dries, grab some glitter gel pens to outline and accent your design.

Step 5: Finish and Display
Let your ornament dry completely, then reattach the hanging string.
This is a big ornament, so it can be added to a wreath, hung by itself on or by the door, or really anywhere.

This craft is quick, affordable, and a great way to use those Dollar Tree ornaments beyond Christmas!
Craft Klatch Tip
Try making a whole Halloween collection using the same ornament shape – a mummy, Frankenstein, a witch, or even a pumpkin version. Perfect for your next crafting night…or my next livestream!

By the way…I did my second livestream and I tacked the mummy ornament. You can find it HERE!
