How To Make A Flower Jewel Coaster Craft Tutorial

Oriental Trading was kind enough to send me the flower jewels.  If you have never shopped there, you should check them out!  I decided I would make a coaster using those jewels.

You will need:

This is the resin I used for this project:
FX Poxy:  http://amzn.to/2AF3Pkk ~ According to the manufacturer, this one is heat resistant to 500 degrees F.
Here is the video tutorial:

Directions:
1.  Prepare your coaster mold.  If you want to see how I do it, watch the video below.  Since this video, I have started using this coaster mold:  http://amzn.to/2FcRd7J

2.  Prepare your resin, according to the package directions.
3.  Fill your mold with resin and drop in your jewels.  Take your stir stick and press them down to the bottom of the mold.  Mine stayed down, if yours should float, you might need to do a second layer after the first layer hardened.
4.  Remove bubbles if needed.  Allow to sit for at least 12 hours.

That’s it!  You have a fun new coaster!  It’s funny how the jewels kind of lost the beveled definition in the resin.

Hope you like it and thank you for stopping by!

Happy Crafting!
