Because I have had great responses to my coasters, I have started Another Coaster Friday on my YouTube Channel. I like to try different things and that’s how I came up with this Sushi Coaster!
It’s a fun and whimsical coaster that is a great gift for the sushi lover in your life. I going for a California roll look, but didn’t want to be boring with the crab and cucumbers in the middle. Since sushi is all about the raw fish, I bought some fake fish bait and used it instead.

Directions:
1. You need to set up your coaster mold. To see how that is done, watch this video:

2. Prepare your resin, according to the package directions.
3. Cut your green paper into a strip. This is going to act as your seaweed. You might need two in order to make it long enough. If so, conspicuously tape it on the inside so the tape won’t be seen.
4. Take a pencil or a pen and wind the paper around the pencil or pen, so the paper becomes curly.
5. In a disposable cup, mix some resin and rice, making sure the rice is all covered in the resin. Put the curled paper into the mold and adjust as necessary. Start putting the rice into place within paper/seaweed.
6. Let that sit for a minimum of an hour, but I let it sit over night. The rice will float to the top, if you fill everything with resin right away and therefore this is just resin covered rice. You can add the little fishes at this time, realizing they won’t be covered with the resin until the next pour. This does allow the fish to get somewhat anchored on the the resin covered rice.
7. When it has hardened enough, pour more resin into the mold, making sure everything is covered and level.
8. After you have let it cure for a minimum of 12 hours, remove the coaster from the mold and you have a fun, one of a kind, sushi coaster!
