Here is a quick video tutorial, so you can see exactly how I made it:
2. Once it dried, I added one coat of orange, so there were no holes.
3. I mixed my fast curing resin. It cures in 10-15 minutes and it cures white.
Here it is about five minutes into the cure.
4. Once cured, I painted the resin, with black purple and orange.
5. I mixed two ounces of clear resin and poured it onto the painted coaster.
6. I used my lighter to pop the bubbles.
7. I added the plastic scorpion and added more resin.
8. I popped the bubbles with my lighter.
9. I needed to mix more resin because it did not fully cover the scorpion. It would have been better, if I had let the first layer cure and then added another ounce or two. It would have minimized the bubbles.
10. The scorpion blended in more than expected. In hindsight, I would painted the back of the scorpion with acrylic paint, to give it some definition.
The scorpion blends in with the background, but is a surprise when the lights go out, or a black light goes on.
